Charity M. Davis

Attorney Charity Gilchrist-Davis is the founder and owner of the Gilchrist-Davis Law Office, LLC, in Birmingham, Alabama. Serving individuals and families throughout the greater Birmingham metro area and all across the state, Ms. Gilchrist-Davis devotes her practice primarily to family law, where she helps her clients navigate the complex and challenging divorce process. Within this realm, she has extensive experience assisting clients with resolving their conflicts and reaching agreements for their issues involving child custody and support, property division, alimony and other related matters.

In addition, she also counsels clients who are looking to adopt, and she has extensive experience representing the rights and interests of her clients seeking modifications of existing court orders as well as prosecuting contempt orders involving rule nisi petitions. Her law firm also handles personal injury and employment law claims, working in association with other attorneys in the region.

Born and raised in Birmingham, Ms. Gilchrist-Davis has a genuine concern for the legal matters that affect the residents of her community, and she has earned a reputation for her integrity and high ethical standards. Ms. Gilchrist-Davis is a graduate of Birmingham's Samford University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in paralegal studies and a minor in sociology. She then obtained her Juris Doctor from Miles Law School in Fairfield, and the Alabama State Bar admitted her to practice in 2008. Before establishing her law firm in 2008, she served as legal secretary, paralegal and judicial law clerk.

Highly active in both her local and legal communities, she is a member of the Birmingham and American Inns of Court, the Jefferson County TASK Force, the Jefferson County Family Court Adolescent Mentoring Program and The Worship Center Christian Church Legal Team.
