Drew McNutt

Mr. McNutt's path into personal injury law began in an unexpected place. Early in his career, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Tom King Jr. in the Circuit Court of Jefferson County, gaining firsthand exposure to the inner workings of the courtroom. He then spent several years on the other side of the aisle, working at an insurance defense firm where he represented insurance companies and their insureds. That experience gave him a detailed understanding of how insurers evaluate and defend claims – insight he would later put to use on behalf of injured people.

Since 2004, Mr. McNutt has dedicated his practice entirely to representing injured individuals across Alabama and the broader Southeast. Over the years, he has served as lead counsel in numerous jury and bench trials, securing favorable verdicts and judgments in both state and federal courts, including several six-figure jury awards. 

Before joining Alexander Shunnarah Trial Attorneys in 2020, Mr. McNutt spent six years honing his craft at a regional personal injury firm. Central to his approach is a firm belief that skilled, dedicated representation can level the playing field for clients, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Mr. McNutt earned his B.S. from The University of Alabama in 2007 and his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law in 2010. He is admitted to practice in Alabama and holds memberships with the Alabama State Bar, the Tennessee State Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association, the Alabama Association for Justice and the National Trial Lawyers.
