Frances Ross Nolan represents clients in the central Alabama and greater Birmingham areas in the area of family law, including divorce, complex asset valuation and division, child custody and support, spousal support, antenuptial (prenuptial) agreements, , ,dependency, paternity and other family-related legal issues.
In addition to providing experienced representation in traditional litigation, Nolan is also trained in Collaborative Divorce, and is able to provide skilled representation to those preferring an alternative, no-court process for resolving their legal disputes. After discussion and review of each client’s unique circumstances, and goals, Nolan provides an array of process options to allow clients to determine the best approach for them and their family.
Nolan currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for Oasis Counseling for Women and Children, and is President-Elect of the Dispute Resolution Committee for the Birmingham Bar Association. Nolan is the past chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Family Law, and served onthe council for the Alabama State Bar Alternative Dispute Resolution Section for several years, as well as on the Alabama Custodial Laws Revision Task Force and the Alabama Law Institute Collaborative Law Act Committee Nolan is an official observer to the Uniform Law Commission's Collaborative Law Act Committee and was an integral force in bringing Collaborative Divorce to Alabama.
Nolan has been recognized annually as a top attorney by Birmingham and B-Metro Magazines since the founding of Nolan Byers, PC and was named by Bham Biz Magazine as one of its 205 Influential Executives in its inaugural edition, and by Positive Maturity Magazine as one of the Top 50 Over 50.Â
Ms. Ross Nolan is an Alabama native and a graduate of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. She is a member of the Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations. She is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Practitioners, the Alternative Dispute Resolutions sections of the Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations, and Birmingham Inns of Court.
