John G. Dana

Focusing his practice primarily on business litigation and securities litigation, John G. Dana is a partner at Gordon, Dana, & Gilmore, LLC. He provides representation to clients throughout the state in cases that involve disputes between shareholders, partners or LLC members, dissolution, buyouts, and third-party actions such as breach of contract. Mr. Dana's experience also has included claims against brokers and investment advisers based on fraud, investment abuse, negligence and breach of fiduciary duty. Highly regarded by his colleagues for his successful track record as well as for the ethical and professional manner in which he handles his clients' affairs, he has received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.

Majoring in finance, Mr. Dana attended Auburn University as an undergraduate, and he received a Bachelor of Science in 1995. Remaining in Alabama, he went on to pursue his legal education at the Samford University Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, and he served as the executive editor of the Cumberland Law Review before being awarded his Juris Doctor in 1999. After graduation, Mr. Dana practiced with two Birmingham area firms until joining Gordon, Dana, & Gilmore, LLC, in September 2005.

Mr. Dana is admitted to practice before all Alabama and Mississippi state courts. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. An active participant in several legal organizations, Mr. Dana's memberships include the Alabama Association for Justice, the Birmingham Bar Association, and the Mississippi Association for Justice.
