During his time at law school, he was actively engaged in the Trial Advocacy Program and served on the Trial Advocacy Board. He also contributed as the materials editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy.

Initially embarking on a career with a larger firm representing insurance companies and corporations, Mr. Alvis soon realized his true calling lay elsewhere. In 1985, he shifted his focus to exclusively represent injury victims and their families, a path he has passionately pursued ever since.
