Sara L. Williams is a dedicated trial attorney at Alexander Shunnarah Trial Attorneys in Birmingham, Alabama, where she focuses her practice on personal injury matters. Beyond her legal practice, Ms. Williams has built a parallel legacy as an educator and mentor to the next generation of trial lawyers. Since 2010, she has coached Cumberland School of Law's nationally ranked mock trial teams, helping cultivate some of the sharpest emerging advocacy talent in the country. Her commitment to teaching deepened in 2012 when she joined Cumberland as an adjunct professor, instructing students in basic skills in trial advocacy, as well as advanced skills in trial advocacy – civil and depositions and technology.
From the fall of 2023 through the fall of 2025, Ms. Williams further distinguished herself by serving as Visiting Director of Advocacy Programs at Cumberland School of Law, a role that allowed her to shape the school's advocacy curriculum at an institutional level.
Ms. Williams's academic journey began at Florida State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in 2003. She went on to complete her Juris Doctor at Cumberland School of Law in 2006, launching a career defined by advocacy both inside and outside the courtroom. She is an active member of the Alabama State Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association and the American Association for Justice, among other professional organizations.
Extending her competence to fellow practitioners, Ms. Williams delivered a presentation titled "Crossing to Close" at the AAJ Authentic Voices in Litigation Seminar. Across her legal practice, teaching and thought leadership, she continues to demonstrate unwavering dedication to advocating for clients, pursuing professional excellence and mentoring the next generation of trial attorneys.
