A co-founder of Simpson, McMahan, Glick & Burford, PLLC, W. Scott Simpson handles a variety of alternative dispute resolution matters for his clients in the Birmingham, Alabama, metropolitan area. A registered mediator at both the trial and appellate levels, he has conducted mediation sessions throughout the United States. Mr. Simpson is also on the American Arbitration Association's National Roster of Arbitrators and Mediators. He has authored a section on the relationship between arbitration and class actions in A Practitioner's Guide to Class Actions, Second Edition, published by the American Bar Association.

Mr. Simpson received a Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of Florida in 1989. After taking postgraduate courses in business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, he pursued his legal education at Samford University's Cumberland School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor magna cum laude in 1993. While in law school, he was the research editor for the Cumberland Law Review and served on the school's Moot Court Board. Admitted to practice before all Alabama state courts, Mr. Simpson is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Middle Districts of Alabama and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 5th and 11th Circuits. He co-founded Simpson, McMahan, Glick & Burford, PLLC, in 2007 after serving as general counsel for a corporation.

Mr. Simpson has delivered numerous presentations to groups of fellow attorneys at continuing legal education seminars. He has taught a course on dispute resolution at his law school alma mater and led a course on international arbitration at the University of Cambridge in England. Mr. Simpson is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association.
