Mr. Maples earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Alabama in 1982. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1986. That same year, he was admitted to practice in Alabama. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 6th and 11th Circuits.
An active member of the legal community, Mr. Maples belongs to the Alabama State Bar, the Madison County Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He served as president of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Alabama State Bar in 2000, reflecting his longstanding commitment to the practice of bankruptcy law. He is also involved with the Huntsville Madison County Mental Health Center. He has earned an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, the organization's highest distinction.
