Admitted to practice in Alabama, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Southern and Middle Districts of Alabama, several Federal Courts in Florida, Georgia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Ms. Hernandez received her undergraduate degree in education and athletic training from Troy University in 1990. At the University of South Alabama, she completed her master’s degree in 1991, majoring in education and exercise physiology. From 1991 to 2006 Hernandez was an educator in a number of settings including K-12 education and at the University. She obtained her J.D. from Faulkner University – Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 2007.

With an education certification from the University of Mobile, Ms. Hernandez closely interacts with children working across institutions in Alabama. Combining educational background with her 15 year litigation experience she strives to protect the rights of juveniles, transform juvenile probation, fights for the rights of students to establish equality in educational standards, represents teachers and educators targeted by the school system administration and stands up to those that bully and belittle others.

A registered mediator, Ms. Hernandez understands how frightening the processes of legal litigation can be and helps her clients settle matters out of court where appropriate. Hernandez’s skill as attorney and educator, is used to teach and mentor law students and young lawyers for mentorship. She also volunteers to teach and present at seminars sponsored by many organizations and serves as a volunteer lawyer in Mobile.

In 2008, Ms. Hernandez started her firm with a determination to work hard and build a team of attorneys that tackle legal issues and think outside the box for creative solutions while fighting for the rights of others and equalize the path to justice. The Hernandez and Associates Firm has now grown to six attorneys that work together with the support staff to provide a team of skilled attorneys working toward tackling the legal issues faced by those they represent.

Ms. Hernandez, is rated “Very Good” on Avvo and has received positive reviews on Martindale-Hubbell. She was listed in the 10 Best Female Lawyers for the year 2016-17 by the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys and was also recognized by Lawyers of Distinction.

Ms. Hernandez has served on the State Domestic Violence Board and presently is a board member of the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. She also volunteers in several social campaigns, coaching and community activities on a local and state level.
