While at the university, he pursued studies in American history, political science and business administration.
In 1985, Mr. Mims was granted a license to practice law in Alabama. He was subsequently admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. Presently, he holds the position of Municipal Court Judge in Bayou La Batre, Alabama. Additionally, he serves as the prosecutor for the city of Citronelle, Alabama; the municipal prosecutor for the city of Satsuma, Alabama and the city attorney for the city of Creola, Alabama. Furthermore, he acts as the director of the Parkway Senior Citizens Foundation.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Mims is a distinguished member of several prestigious organizations, such as the Alabama Association for Justice, the Alabama State Bar Association and the Mobile Bar Association. He is also a devoted pro bono advocate, actively contributing his legal skills to the Volunteer Lawyers Program through the Mobile Bar Association. Serving as the director of the Parkway Senior Citizens Foundation, he further demonstrates an unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of seniors in the community.
