Gregory S. Parvin

Since 1998, Mr. Parvin has been admitted to practice in the state of Alaska. He attended Villanova University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1990. He then attended Marquette University Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1997. From 1987-2007, he worked as a trial attorney for the Alaska Public Defender’s Office and then as a trial attorney for the Alaska Office of Public Advocacy.

Mr. Parvin is a board member of the Mat-Su Health Foundation and is president of the Matanuska Bar Association. Between undergraduate studies and law school, he worked as an English teacher for a high school and gained experience working on fishing vessels. These down-to-earth experiences have helped him better understand what people need to be successful.

An active participant in his community, Mr. Parvin is a member of the Iditarod Rules Committee and a board member for the Jr. Iditarod. He is also Race Judge for the Yukon Quest and Race Marshal for the Copper Basin 300, and he finished the Iditarod himself.
