As the founding partner of Hartsig Law PLLC, Charitie L. Hartsig handles a variety of matters for business and individual clients throughout Arizona. From the firm's office in Phoenix, Arizona, she focuses her practice primarily on labor and employment law, catering to her clients’ needs in navigating issues of personnel policies, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and, hour and wage compliance.
Ms. Hartsig has experience representing employers in matters involving allegations of hostile workplace environment and other forms of sexual harassment and workplace discrimination arising out of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and other statutes; wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination and other forms of retaliation.
In these matters, Ms. Hartsig has appeared before state and federal courts as well as in hearings before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Industrial Commission of Arizona and the Civil Rights Division of the Arizona Attorney General's Office. She also conducts training sessions with management on litigation risk avoidance and personnel policies. In addition to her labor and employment practice, she has represented executors and other fiduciaries in probate and estate administration proceedings and her experience extends to general business disputes as well.
Majoring in religious studies, Ms. Hartsig attended the Arizona State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in 2004. She then enrolled at the Arizona State University Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor magna cum laude in 2007. After graduation, she served as a law clerk with the Honorable Judge Diane M. Johnsen at the Arizona Court of Appeals before entering private practice. A member of the Employ Law Section of the Maricopa County Bar Association, she is admitted to practice in Arizona and Texas, along with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and the Colorado Supreme Court.
