David S. Shughart

Board-certified as a specialist in wrongful death and injury by the State Bar of Arizona, David S. Shughart is a partner at the law firm Beale Micheaels Slack Shughart P.C. in Phoenix, Arizona. With almost three decades of legal experience, he serves clients throughout the state of Arizona, including all the major towns and cities. Representing people who have sustained injuries because of another person’s negligent actions, he handles cases involving:

Graduating cum laude, Mr. Shughart received his bachelor’s degree in English from the Arizona State University-Barrett, The Honors College. He went on to study law at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 1993. 

After law school, Mr. Shughart joined a renowned firm in Phoenix as a partner where he represented insurance companies. He later started his own firm where he took on personal injury cases, representing those who were hurt through no fault of their own. In 2013, he joined Beale Micheaels Slack Shughart P.C. 

Throughout his career, Mr. Shughart has litigated cases for clients in courtrooms throughout Arizona, including the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. He is a tireless advocate for his clients’ rights, with a firm commitment to their needs and interests. 

Mr. Shughart has co-authored chapters in the Arizona Tort Law Handbook and has presented at many conferences and continuing legal education platforms. He has been honored and recognized for his professional ethics and excellence, and is rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell. He has been listed numerous times in the Best Lawyers of America and Arizona’s Finest Lawyers, and also has a “Superb” rating on Avvo. 

A past board member of the Solid Rock Foundation, Mr. Shughart has memberships in other professional organizations such as the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Arizona Association for Justice, the Maricopa County Bar Association, and the Jury Instruction Committee and Fee Arbitration Committee of the State Bar of Arizona.
