Born and raised in Arizona, Jonathan Roeder is one of the founders of Phoenix-based The Valley Law Group. Focusing his practice exclusively on family law matters, he represents clients in Maricopa County and throughout the state. As an undergraduate, Mr. Roeder attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, and he majored in political science and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2006. Mr. Roeder then pursued his legal education at what was then known as the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, and in 2010 he was awarded his Juris Doctor.

After his graduation from law school, Mr. Roeder joined the faculty of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, where he taught online courses for working adults in a variety of topics ranging from writing to legal and justice studies. He also became licensed as a realtor in Arizona before entering the private practice of law in July 2016.

As is often the case with family law attorneys, a significant portion of Mr. Roeder’s practice involves divorce and the related legal issues of property division, spousal and child support, and child custody and visitation. His experience has also extended to the preparation and review of prenuptial and post-marital agreements, and he has worked on cases involving grandparents’ visitation rights, paternity disputes and establishment, and domestic violence. Mr. Roeder has additionally helped numerous clients whose marriages have previously been legally terminated and who are now trying to get existing parenting or support court orders modified or enforced. Admitted to practice in Arizona and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, his excellent track record in all his professional endeavors has earned him a 10.0 “Superb” peer review rating through Avvo among other honors.
