Upon graduating from The University of New Mexico with an undergraduate degree in criminology, Ms. Montoya pursued her law degree at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. She received her Juris Doctor in 2020, and in the same year, she was licensed to practice law in Arizona. She received the Future Practitioner Award from the State Bar of Arizona’s Criminal Justice Section for her commitment to criminal justice during her time in law school.

Ms. Montoya’s internships at the Arizona Supreme Court’s Administrative Office of the Courts and the Maricopa County Office of the Public Defender laid the foundation for her understanding of the legal landscape. Her practical skills from these experiences enable her to represent clients in a variety of proceedings, including felony jury trials and change of plea hearings.
