Steve Guy's practice and experience cover a wide spectrum of commercial, contract and tort litigation representing both individual and corporate plaintiffs and defendants, with many such matters involving claims in the multiple millions of dollars. While for over 35 years Steve's practice has been concentrated in insurance litigation, including representation of insurers and policyholders in complex coverage, declaratory judgment, and bad faith suits, he has also frequently represented both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, property damage, as well as business tort and contract claims and disputes. Steve served as lead counsel for a major trucking company in an insurance bad faith lawsuit that resulted in a recovery in excess of $65 million. He was also lead counsel for a food processing company in an insurance bad faith lawsuit that resulted in a $10 million recovery. Other representative cases include representing an executive whistleblower that was wrongfully terminated resulting in a settlement of multiple millions of dollars; successfully defending substantial wage claims; representing plaintiffs in personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and disability and health insurance claims resulting in recoveries in the millions of dollars. Steve's experience also includes defense of insurance brokers, accountants, and lawyers in professional liability matters and mediation and arbitration (as party-selected neutral) of litigated disputes.
