Before venturing into private practice, he served as a deputy district attorney in Colorado, where he quickly ascended to become the sole human trafficking prosecutor and a key member of the special victims unit. His tenure at the district attorney's office saw him tackling serious felony cases, including murder and human trafficking, while collaborating with esteemed organizations such as the FBI and Homeland Security. His commitment to justice extended beyond the courtroom, as he actively engaged in community education on human trafficking and contributed to training law enforcement at the Detectives Academy.

In Colorado County Court, Mr. Bornhoft honed his skills in prosecuting misdemeanors such as DUI and domestic violence. As the lead attorney, he managed a team of 12 attorneys across multiple courtrooms, overseeing a staggering caseload of over 3,500 cases. His role involved mentoring new attorneys in trial practice, covering everything from jury selection to closing arguments.

Returning to his roots in Arkansas, where his family has deep ties, Mr. Bornhoft gained invaluable experience at both a large personal injury firm and a boutique litigation firm. This experience equipped him to handle hundreds of personal injury and automobile accident cases, securing favorable settlements and reducing medical bills for his clients. His proficiency also extends to family law, estate planning and litigation, where he has successfully navigated complex cases involving divorce, child custody and estate disputes.

Mr. Bornhoft is licensed to practice law in Arkansas and Colorado, as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas. A graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, he was a distinguished member of the DU Law National Trial Team, part of a top-ranked trial advocacy program. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business, focusing on financial management and investments.
