Cearley, Jr. is a veteran trial lawyer with over 49 years of experience in complex litigation involving business torts, commercial litigation, breach of contracts, wrongful death, catastrophic injury and products liability.  He is a past president of the Arkansas Bar Association, and a fellow of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.  The Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association recognized him with its Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award in 1997.  For more than 15 years, he has been listed among The Best Lawyers in America and included in Martindale-Hubbell's Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.  He has been named to the Arkansas Super Lawyers Top 50 list.  Bob Cearley was lead counsel for plaintiffs in McLean v. Arkansas Board of Education, 529 F. Supp. 1255 (1982), which found mandatory teaching of creation science in Arkansas public schools an unconstitutional violation of the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Constitution.  The decision defined the term "science" and declared that creation science is not, in fact, science and teaching it serves no secular purpose.  In 2015, Bob Cearley won the largest personal injury verdict in Arkansas history with a $122.5 million jury verdict on behalf of a client critically injured in a car bombing.
