    Rebecca Hurst is a co-founder and the Managing Partner of the business, transactional and entrepreneurial services law firm Smith Hurst, PLC.  Since 2007 she has been an adjunct professor at the University of Arkansas School of Law where she teaches advanced classes in Estate Planning, Federal Estate and Gift Tax, Wills, Trusts and Estates, and Non-Profit Organizations.  She has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of tax law and has been awarded an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell.

    Ms. Hurst obtained her Masters of Law in Taxation degree (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Arkansas School of Law where she was the executive editor of the Arkansas Law Review, a Charles Thomas Pearson fellow and scholarship recipient and the justice of the Phi Alpha Delta organization.  Prior to attending law school, Ms. Hurst worked as an accountant for Beverly Enterprises (now Golden Living) in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  She attended Arkansas State University (Fort Smith Campus) where she graduated magna cum laude and first in her degree.  Ms. Hurst was the recipient of the Outstanding Accounting Student and Distinguished Business Transfer Student awards and a member of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society.

    Ms. Hurst currently serves on the Corporate Leadership Council for the Walton Arts Center, the Board of Directors for the Fayetteville Division of the Arkansas Community Foundation, the Borad of Directors of the Morgan Nick Foundation, and the Board of Directors of the University of Arkansas Fort Smith Foundation.  She also serves on Fayetteville's Future Committee and was a 2013 graduate of Leadership Fayetteville.  In 2017 Rebecca was recognized as a 2017 Women in Business honoree by the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal. She also was recognized in 2010 in the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 list of business leaders and successful individuals.
