She graduated with honors from California State University, Chico, with Bachelor of Arts in political Science and Masters of Public Administration degree. Prior to law school , she was a lecturer in the Department of Political Science and also served on the staff of a California State Senator.

    Ms. Coleman is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern and Northern Districts. She is a member of the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA) the Capital City Trial Lawyers Association, the Sacramento County Bar Association, and the State Bar of California Labor and Employment Section. She also serves as a mediator for the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing and was a member of the Future of the Courts Commission headed by Chief Justice Lucas.
