Attorney Profile

Mike Danko represents clients in the San Francisco and Silicon Valley areas in a broad range of personal injury cases. Mr. Danko advocates for individuals who have been injured or lost a loved one in cases of wrongful death, catastrophic injuries and serious accidents, and he has obtained multiple eight-figure verdicts on their behalf. He won a $20 million settlement for a bystander who was wounded in a utility explosion, and he also obtained a $50 million award for the family of a child who died after ingesting candy containing a hazardous ingredient.

As an avid pilot who has logged more than 3,500 flight hours in airpplanes, helicopters, and jets, Mr. Danko brings nuanced insight to the niche practice area of aviation law as well. He obtained a $15 million jury verdict for one client injured in the crash of a single-engine Beechcraft, and a $10 million verdict for the widow of a pilot who died in helicopter crash.  He most recently won a $13 million verdict for the family of pilot who died in a Cessna plane crash.  The $13 million dollar result was a record verdict for the death of a 69-year old.

After graduating magna cum laude from Dartmouth College, Mr. Danko went on to complete his law degree at the University of Virginia School of Law. He began his law career representing large Wall Street firms in complex litigation proceedings but found greater rewards in representing individuals seriously harmed due to the carelessness or wrongful conduct of others.

The Consumer Attorneys of California has recognized Mr. Danko with the distinction of a Trial Lawyer of the Year nomination, as has the Santa Clara Country Trial Lawyers Association.  He has been named Trial Attorney of the Year by the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Assocation.  He belongs to the American Association for Justice and has served on the board of governors for the Consumer Attorneys of California. Because of the respect he has earned in the field, he has been been asked to speak on a number of radio and television shows, and is frequently featured in National and local publications, such as Forbes, Bloomberg News and the Wall Street.Journal
