Attorney Profile

Attorney Stuart C. Talley is a partner in the Sacramento law firm of Kershaw, Cook & Talley, PC (KCT). He practices law in the areas of mass torts, consumer class actions, and other complex litigation. For the past 15 years, he has represented plaintiffs in both Federal and State Courts throughout the country. In addition, he handles many large individual personal injury actions on behalf of injured consumers.

His typical cases include class action or mass torts where he represents hundreds, sometimes thousands, of individual clients nationwide who sustained injuries from a dangerous drug or defective medical device. Mr. Talley, and other KCT partners, takes the lead in these cases, and is responsible for the overall case management and litigation of these cases for the plaintiffs. Subsequently, these cases are litigated against some of the largest companies in the world and against the best defense firms in the country. At Kershaw, Cook & Talley, his ultimate goal is providing the highest level of service to clients and the personal attention they justly deserve.

Mr. Talley also presides over several large cases involving business disputes. For example, he currently represents more than a hundred auto dealers seeking compensation from a large auto manufacturer that terminated their franchises. He also represented consumers in large class actions against consumer electronics companies, car manufacturers, banks, insurance companies, and for-profit trade schools.

Furthermore, Stuart is involved with various activities and services within the community. Mr. Talley has made several appearances as a legal expert on CBS Sacramento's Call Kurtis and lectured for the National Business Institute on issues involving Federal Civil Procedure and Class Action. He belongs to the American Association for Justice and is a Member of the Board of Directors for the Capital City Trial Lawyers Association. He is also the youth basketball and baseball coach for Sacred Heart Elementary School. In 2013, he had the privilege of organizing a fundraiser for the Rebuild McKinley Park Project benefiting the local community.

He is selected as a 2015 Northern California Super Lawyer and named a 2015 Top Lawyer by Sacramento Magazine. Mr. Talley earned a Juris Doctor and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1995. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts and graduated with high honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1992.
