Margo represents individual clients with claims for all types of employee benefits and assists employees with transitions in and out of jobs. She has experience with many kinds of claims for benefits, including disability, pension, life and accident, and stock option claims. Margo also assists employees – from executives to hourly workers – with review, analysis, and negotiation of employment contracts and severance agreements for people starting a new job or leaving an old one (voluntarily or involuntarily). Her work also includes advising people on strategy and legal rights through transitions to disability leave or retirement.

Margo has also served as counsel in class and multi-plaintiff actions in the employee benefits, wage and hour, and civil rights fields, including several actions challenging the fairness of prices charged to Employee Stock Ownership Plans for employer stock, representing union pension and welfare funds against investment managers and consultants for investment in Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme, and civil rights and wage and hour class actions. Margo frequently writes and speaks on a wide range of issues in employee benefits law, from the changing legal landscape for employee benefits for same-sex couples to the scope of ERISA preemption of state law. Prior to founding Renaker Hasselman Scott LLP, Margo was an associate attorney and then a shareholder at a national employee benefits and employment law firm.
