Michael F. Ram has been a partner at Robins Kaplan LLP since joining the firm in April 2017. Located in its office in Mountain View, California, he represents individual and business clients throughout the state. A significant portion of Mr. Ram's caseload has involved the representation of consumers in state and nationwide class actions. His successes have included a $30 million settlement of a lawsuit brought against Wells Fargo for improper mortgage interest charges, the denial of an appeal by Ford Motor Co. of the certification of a class of purchasers whose vehicles had defective parts, and a false advertising case brought against the manufacturer of a protein supplement. Mr. Ram's other experience has included business disputes, intellectual property litigation, and antitrust matters. His superior track record has earned him the esteem of his colleagues, as evidenced by his receipt of an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Ram has also received Public Justice's annual Trial Lawyer of the Year Award.
Mr. Ram attended Cornell University as an undergraduate, where he majored in government and obtained a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in 1979. He then pursued his legal education at Harvard Law School and was awarded his Juris Doctor with honors in 1982. After he graduated, he was an associate at a San Francisco-based international law firm and then was a partner at area firms. Mr. Ram's professional affiliations have included The Bar Association of San Francisco.
