Attorney Profile

William C. Wilka is partner at Dudnick Detwiler Rivin & Stikker LLP, where he heads the firm's dispute resolution and commercial litigation practice. Based in San Francisco, he represents clients throughout Northern California. Mr. Wilka has been member in good standing of The State Bar of California since 1978..

A significant portion of Mr. Wilka's practice involves the representation of businesses and individuals in a variety of business and employment law disputes. These matters include wrongful termination, workplace retaliation, the misappropriation of trade secrets, and the enforceability of confidentiality, non-compete, and non-solicitation agreements. He works extensively on non-litigation employment matters, advising clients in severance situations and in negotiating new employment agreements. Outside of the employment area, Mr. Wilka has assisted clients in contract disputes, real property actions, claims of business interference and unfair business practices, intellectual property protection, and shareholder and partnership disputes.

In addition to advocating for his clients on these issues in court, Mr. Wilka has extensive experience in arbitration, mediation and negotiation, and he often helps his clients resolve disputes through those alternative dispute resolution methods. His successful track record throughout his career has earned him the high regard of his colleagues, as evidenced by his receipt of an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, and his selection as a Northern California Super Lawyer 11 times since 2007.

Mr. Wilka received a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in English from the University of Notre Dame in 1972 and his J.D. from  the Georgetown University Law Center, in 1975.
