Audrey Gee is a founding partner at Brown, Gee & Wenger, LLP, a business law firm in Walnut Creek. 

Audrey has represented startups, middle market and publicly traded companies. Her clients have come from industries such as technology, transportation, professional services, telecommunications, health care, food & beverage, manufacturing, financial services, real estate development and construction, and energy.

For 25 years, Audrey has helped her clients navigate complicated HR, personnel and employment laws.  Audrey provides advice and counsel on employee risk issues, legal compliance issues, and responding to disgruntled employee claims. When matters escalate, Audrey helps businesses respond to government agency investigations (claim filed with the California Department of Industrial Relations and Labor Commissioner (DIR), Department of Labor (DOL), Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)).  Audrey litigates actions in State and Federal Court, mediation and private arbitrations. Audrey has successfully resolved class and FLSA collective actions, private attorney general act (PAGA) representative matters, and individual actions. 

Audrey handles matters involving wage and hour issues, exempt employee misclassification and independent contractor status, recruiting and hiring practices, compensation and commission, theft of trade secrets and non-disclosure, confidentiality or invention agreements, founder disputes, compliance with disability and medical leave laws (reasonable accommodations), discrimination and harassment claims (for sex, race, age, religion, disability and medical condition), wrongful termination; employee discipline, employee privacy, layoffs, reductions in force, severance, contract claims, arbitration agreements, as well as employment related torts as defamation, negligence, emotional distress, fraud and misrepresentation.

Audrey’s corporate litigation work has included representation of multi-billion dollar companies in contract disputes, resolving disputes arising out of sale, merger, acquisition, or dissolution of businesses and partnerships, defending publicly traded homebuilders in complex multi-plaintiff construction claims, defending against trademark infringement disputes, assisting in prosecution of $100 million dollar contract and fraud claims between banks, and handling disputes relating to business fraud and land sale acquisitions.

Audrey was President of the Contra Costa Bar Association, Chair of the CCCBA's Judicial Nominations Committee, and President of the Women's Section, and served on the board of the employment section. Audrey was named as the inaugural Outstanding Woman Lawyer by the Contra Costa Bar Association.  Audrey was on the Robert McGrath Inns of Court and served on its Executive Committee. Audrey has been a frequent speaker for groups such as the Women Business Enterprise Council, EDD Employer’s Advisory Council, the Contra Costa Bar Association, Human Capital, ProVisors, and other business CEO groups.

Pro bono/Community Service

  • Audrey has been Chair of the Contra Costa Bar Association's Board of Director's Pro Bono Committe.   Audrey initiated the CCCBA’s first public service fellowship through partnering with Equal Justice Works, whose fellows have provided service in Contra Costa to stop predatory lending on the elderly, as well as providing legal assistance to low-income disabled persons living with mental illnesses. While at Morgan Miller Blair, Audrey served as the the Firm's Chair of the Pro Bono committee and spearheaded its first fellowship program through partnering with EJW.     Audrey’s pro bono activities have also included legal work for the Contra Costa Food Bank, HomeAid, Diablo Ballet, Markum Arboretum, and the Napa Valley Symphony, among others.
