Tara Burd is a dedicated attorney serving as managing partner at RMO, LLP, in San Diego, California. After completing her undergraduate degree at San Diego State University, Ms. Burd proceeded to pursue legal education at California Western School of Law. Upon receiving her Juris Doctor, she gained admission to The State Bar of California in 2011. She is further admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of California. Ever since, she has represented clients in complex matters involving community property disputes, employment and property disputes, antitrust matters and breach of contract litigation in state and federal courts.
Driven by a client-centered approach, Ms. Burd provides deeply personalized legal representation tailored to her clients’ unique goals. She prioritizes clear communication and compassionate advocacy, ensuring they feel heard, protected and empowered through every step of their legal journey. Among numerous cases she has represented clients in throughout the years, she notably secured a $7.4 million breach of contract judgment for a client denied an inheritance promised under an agreement to make a will.
As an active member of the legal community, Ms. Burd previously served as chair of the Board of Representatives and the Member Engagement Committee of the California Lawyers Association. For her contributions to the legal field, she was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in 2022. She was also one of the Top 100 finalists for the Business Women of the Year Award by the San Diego Business Journal in 2017.
