Throughout the course of his legal career, Mr. Shaneyfelt has represented clients in both defense and indemnity of a wide range of issues, including employment practice liability cases, director and officer liability, professional malpractice, accidental death insurance claims, and other insurance-related matters. A 1981 graduate of Thomas Aquinas College, Mr. Shaneyfelt obtained his Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law in 1984. While there, he served as senior editor of the school's Law Review.  He formerly served as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Division, in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Shaneyfelt holds his license to practice in Illinois, Oregon and California, and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Central, Southern and Northern Districts of California; the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois; the Western District of Washington; the Southern District of Mississippi; and the District of Hawaii. He also practices before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th and 9th Circuits and the U.S. Supreme Court.
