    Along with having tried more than 200 workers' compensation cases, he has successfully authored and presented more than 20 appellate briefs before the California courts of appeal.     A 1982 graduate of Boston College, Mr. Rutyna attended George Washington University National Law Center, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1985. The State Bar of California admitted him to practice in 1986, and he joined the Huntington Beach City Attorney’s Office, where he served two years as a deputy attorney. He then worked as an outside attorney, working on a contract basis until 2003 when he decided to further his education. He enrolled at Chapman University School of Law and earned his Master of Law degree in 2007.

    Following this, Mr. Rutyna worked as an insurance defense attorney for two prominent insurance carriers. This experience provided him with invaluable insight into the industry, which helps him build the strongest cases possible for his plaintiff injury clients.

    Along with maintaining a successful legal practice, Mr. Rutyna is currently a judge pro tem with the Long Beach District Office's Division of Workers’ Compensation. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association's Workers' Compensation Section and has been involved in several homeowners' associations. He holds a Superb rating on Avvo for workers' compensation, and he has received numerous other awards for his professionalism and service.
