Mr. Ostrove earned his undergraduate degree from Los Angeles City College in 1950. A few years later, after working as a certified public accountant, he decided to further his education by attending law school. In 1960, he began his legal career after earning his law degree from Southwestern Law School and his admission to The State Bar of California. Additionally, since 1975, the Board of Legal Specialization has recognized him as a board-certified attorney in the area of taxation law.

Over the past five decades, Mr. Ostrove has earned the respect of both his clients and his peers, which has resulted in a number of honors. He has a "Good" rating from Avvo, and he has received an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell. In addition, attorney Ostrove has served as an expert witness at the request of other attorneys since 1957, and he has been an adjunct professor of law at Southwestern Law School since 1968.
