Attorney Profile

I have been representing injured people most of my 17 year career as an attorney.

In this practice, most clients have been hurt while going about their lives, minding their own business, whether it’s walking down the street, driving to work or out for a weekend bike ride.

Most people don’t realize that the vast majority of what we call “accidents” are events that could have been prevented had the person (or company) who caused the injury taken reasonable steps to avoid the crash: put their cell phone down while driving, mop up spills in their store, slow down on the freeway, fix the sidewalk.

Each of these events that we call “accidents” are actually choices made by someone else that result in life-altering events for my clients.

Sometimes the life-altering is mild and only lasts a short time. Sometimes it is major and lasts the rest of their lives. And sometimes it results in a death, and changes that person’s friends’ and family’s lives forever.

Making the choice to endanger others’ lives is one thing, but to make matters worse, after causing a crash or injury to my client then we have to deal with insurance companies and corporations that will do anything to avoid full responsibility: blame the victim, deny responsibility for the crash, trivialize the harms suffered by my client (I can’t tell you how many times I have had an insurance adjuster tell me – about my client who’s suffered a concussion – “so they had a bit of a headache for a while, so what?”).

The odds are stacked against the individual. Insurance companies’ business model is to deny, delay, deceive and defend. They are good at what they do: they make millions and millions every year using these tactics. Many people listen to the adjusters: “you were partially at fault, your case is not worth that much, etc etc” and just accept what the insurance company offers them. The adjusters high five each other.

In my practice, my sole focus is to ensure that my clients are treated fairly and that all of their harms and losses are fairly compensated. Part of my job is to educate my clients on what their rights are and part of my job is to fiercely advocate for my clients.

I stand next to my clients and insist on what is fair. No excuses. No discounts.
