    Attorney Profile

Robert M. Kitson, an attorney and the Chair of Complex Litigation at The Myers Law Group, represents clients Rancho Cucamonga, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and other parts of California with great skill and dignity. The focus of his practice is primarily on employment law and civil rights matters. Specific employment issues that Mr. Kitson handles include hostile work environment, wage and hour violations, wrongful termination, missed meals and breaks, sexual harassment, unlawful discrimination and whistleblower retaliation.

While at the University at Buffalo School of Law, Mr. Kitson was editor of the Buffalo Law Review. Subsequent to receiving his law degree, he was admitted to practice in New York and California and has argued cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. Mr. Kitson was a founding partner of a Los Angeles civil rights firm prior to joining The Meyers Law Group.

One measure of the success Mr. Kitson has achieved in bringing more than 40 cases to trial is the top-dollar awards that often result. For example, he has obtained a $3.3 million verdict for a firefighter captain who experienced discrimination, harassment and retaliation, and $1.49 million for an African American firefighter who suffered discrimination and harassment.

These and other verdicts in the millions of dollars are noteworthy, but Mr. Kitson takes greater pride in knowing that a wrong has been righted and the responsible party held accountable. His superior intellect and dogged tenacity provide the framework for success. With the knowledge and understanding that litigation is not the most appropriate course in every case, Mr. Kitson is also a skilled and effective negotiator and has settled many cases outside of court.
