Attorney Profile

An attorney at SP Law Group, Vlad Ghenciu divides his practice primarily between personal injury litigation and criminal defense, and his experience additionally includes employment litigation. Working out of the firm’s main office in Los Angeles, California, he provides representation to clients throughout the state. Mr. Ghenciu is admitted to practice before all California state courts since December 2013.

Mr. Ghenciu’s personal injury and wrongful death litigation practice involves assisting people who have incurred significant injuries due to the negligence of others. The types of cases that he has worked on in this area of the law include car crashes, construction site accidents, nursing home abuse, defective products, auto-pedestrian accidents, and slip-and-falls and other types of premises liability. Mr. Ghenciu has been able to obtain jury awards and negotiated settlements that have compensated his clients for the harm that they have sustained, such as medical expenses, wage losses, pain and suffering, and loss of consortium and financial contribution.

Mr. Ghenciu has extensive trial advocacy training, most recently graduating from the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) 2019 Plaintiffs' Trial Academy (PTA), a civil trial advocacy training clinic taught by former CAALA President Mike Arias.  This program which ran from May 2019 to July 2019 taught civil litigation attorneys trial advocacy from jury selection to closing arguments.  Mr. Ghenciu also graduated from Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, "Academy of Justice" trial advocacy program, an all expense paid, 40 hours a week course, which was held from May 2016 to August 2016.  This course was moderated by then-Los Angeles Assistant City Attorney Sue Frauens and veteran deputy city attorneys taught trial advocacy from the prosecutor's vantage point.  This course, like the PTA began with jury selection and concluded with closing arguments.  Mr. Ghenciu has tried five civil cases to verdict (three jury, two bench) and four criminal cases to verdict (3 bench, 1 jury).

Mr. Ghenciu is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he majored in international politics and received a bachelor’s degree cum laude in 2007. He then attended Loyola Law School and earned his Juris Doctor in 2012. While in law school, Mr. Ghenciu was a Certified Law Clerk for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office during this summer semester where he tried a felony case to jury verdict.
