Mr. Minyard began his legal career in 1976 after obtaining his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and his license to practice from The State Bar of California. He is a fellow with the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation, and he is founding fellow with the Society of Fellows of the Orange County Bar Foundation.

Mr. Minyard has also served as chair of the Orange County Bar Association's Masters Division as well as its president and board member. He has also served on several committees of the Orange County Bar Association, and he is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the American Bar Association, among his other professional affiliations.
