Jeffrey D. Horowitz

The founder of The Horowitz Law Firm, APC, Jeffrey D. Horowitz, focuses his practice primarily on construction law , surety bond law, and certain real-estate related matters, such as eminent domain, quiet title, partition and boundary dispute cases. Based in Sherman Oaks, a suburb of the city of Los Angeles, he represents businesses and individuals throughout California. Admitted to practice in California since 1990, Mr. Horowitz is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central, Eastern and Southern Districts of California and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

Mr. Horowitz has extensive experience in construction litigation, and counts among his clients, contractors, subcontractors, surety bond companies, and commercial and residential property owners. His cases have included mechanics liens and stop payment notices, delays and change orders, breach of contract, construction defect, payment and performance bond, subdivision bond, and contractor's license bond issues. In his eminent domain practice, Mr. Horowitz represents commercial and residential property owners as well as displaced commercial tenants who are facing a taking by a governmental body and who are seeking fair compensation for their losses. 

Throughout his career, Mr. Horowitz has been able to obtain favorable outcomes for his clients, and this has resulted in his receipt of an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell. He attended California State University, Northridge, as an undergraduate, and before he received a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 1987, he spent a year studying at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Mr. Horowitz then obtained his legal education at Loyola Law School, Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1990.
