Larry Peake

With over 45 years of experience, Larry Peake is a true consummate professional. He maintains a level head in every case he handles and prioritizes achieving his clients’ goals over everything else. From Peake Mediations in Bakersfield, California, he serves as a mediator and arbitrator in myriad legal issues such as insurance defense, personal injury, and public and municipality law, among many others. He represents clients throughout Kern County and the surrounding region as well.

With his academic prowess quite evident very early on, Mr. Peake completed his undergraduate studies at UC Santa Barbara and graduated as an honors student. He later enrolled at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, where he fine-tuned his shrewd legal acumen and bolstered his strong legal foundations. After receiving his Juris Doctor with honors, he obtained his license to practice in California in 1978, and later was admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

A stalwart advocate throughout the duration of his clients’ cases, Mr. Peake has emerged as a pillar of leadership within his legal community for the consistency of his judicious counsel, his tenacious work ethic and enthusiastic zeal in seeing his clients satisfied with their legal outcomes. He has gained the adulation of his peers for always being alert and aware of many intricate nuances of mediative law to provide his clients with opportunities to gain the upper hand in their legal situations. For his many contributions, he is peer-review rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell and was recognized by the Litigation Counsel of America on numerous occasions.

Within many legal organizations, Mr. Peake has held important positions of influence to help shape the standard of service of his industry to stringent expectations, including the Kern County Bar Association (past director) and the Kern County Fee Arbitration Program (past chairperson). The recipient of the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award by The State Bar of California Board of Governors, he is passionate about sharing the practical knowledge he has accumulated over many years of practice and educates future attorneys through his positions as a law school professor and an associate professor at the Kern County College of Law and the California State University at Bakersfield, respectively.
