Anne C. Hagan

The founding partner of Canter Hagan LLP in San Mateo, California, Anne C. Hagan is an established family law attorney with over two decades of experience. She handles matters involving mediation, collaborative practice, consulting, counseling, and drafting premarital and postmarital agreements. She serves clients in San Francisco, California. 

Graduating from the University of California, Davis, with an undergraduate degree, Ms. Hagan worked in the Clinton administration and at the Women’s Legal Defense Fund. She proceeded to join Golden Gate University School of Law to further hone legal skills. While at law school, she clerked at a law firm, gaining hands-on experience early on in her career. She acquired her license to practice in California in 2004 and has been focusing on family law since 2011. 

Ms. Hagan is trained in mediation by The Center for Understanding in Conflict. With the Mosten Mediation Training seal, she demonstrates a commitment to an empathetic and thorough mediation process. Her approach ensures that all participants are actively heard and respected throughout the engagement. As an empathetic individual, she uses her intuition along with her technical skills to navigate complex family dynamics and sees to it that the outcome is in favor of the clients. Outside of the courtroom, Ms. Hagan is a member of the California Lawyers Association’s Family Law section, the San Mateo County Bar Association and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, among many other associations. She previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Association.
