Patrick Phancao

Working with Asset Protection & Elder Law Center, based in Costa Mesa, California, Patrick Phancao brings a unique international perspective to his practice as a partner and attorney. With a background enriched by experiences in Europe, Asia and Africa, he focuses on estate planning, probate law, asset protection, elder law and Medi-Cal planning. Apart from Costa Mesa, he extends his practice to Orange County, California. 

After earning his J.D. from California Western School of Law and a bachelor’s in physiology from UC Santa Barbara, Mr. Phancao embarked on a legal career that began with a pivotal role as assistant legal counsel to a French bank overseas. Upon returning to California, he served as legal counsel for a supplemental nutrients company in Los Angeles, where he worked closely on matters addressing a broad spectrum of legal issues. His responsibilities there covered various domains, including patents and trademarks, corporate governance and asset protection, honing his skills across multiple facets of the law.

Mr. Phancao's reputation for handling complex legal challenges grew as he set record-breaking bonds in California’s White Collar Crime Division and took part in significant legal battles such as the largest individual tax case of 2003. Recognizing a growing need among his clients, for specialized legal advice in elder law and Medi-Cal eligibility, he dedicated himself to transforming the landscape in these areas. His efforts are geared toward helping seniors and their families navigate the complexities of safeguarding their life savings against the high costs of long-term care.

In pursuit of enhancing his service offerings, Mr. Phancao co-founded a boutique law firm in Irvine, California, to provide tailored solutions to meet the intricate needs of his clients. Admitted to practice in both California and Florida, he continues to be a committed advocate for his clients, leveraging his extensive knowledge and diverse background to offer comprehensive legal solutions that address their most pressing challenges.
