R.J. Dreiling

R.J. Dreiling leads Dreiling Law APC, a criminal defense firm based in El Segundo, California, where he represents clients across a broad spectrum of matters, including prefiling representation, restraining orders, white collar crime, DUIs, violent crimes, drug sales and possession, weapons charges, domestic violence, sexual assault, post-conviction resentencing, expungement assistance, and both misdemeanor and felony driving offenses.

Before turning to defense work, Mr. Dreiling built his reputation as a senior prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, where he took on some of the county's most demanding cases, including murder, fraud, conspiracy and kidnapping matters. That prosecutorial background now informs his approach on the defense side, where he has represented a wide range of clients, from Hollywood actors to corporate executives, applying the same rigor and courtroom instinct he honed while working for the state.

Mr. Dreiling's career has been defined by an unbroken commitment to criminal law, a path that began with a law clerkship and has carried him through nearly every seat in the courtroom. Among the complex, high-profile matters he has handled is the widely followed Menendez brothers case, and his work has drawn coverage from major outlets such as the Los Angeles Times, CNN, Fox News, The Guardian, Court TV and Entertainment Tonight. 

An accomplished attorney, Mr. Dreiling has tried more than 70 cases to verdict, spanning DUIs, felony assaults, firearm and narcotics offenses and cold case murders, securing dismissals and favorable outcomes along the way. He is also a frequent guest lecturer on the criminal justice system for universities, government bodies and nonprofit organizations throughout Los Angeles County.

A lifelong Southern Californian, Mr. Dreiling earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University before attending Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where he served on the Scott Moot Court Honors Board and earned dean's list recognition. Furthermore, he belongs to the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the South Bay Bar Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
