Details

Attorney Adam J. Savin is co-founder of the Law Offices of Savin & Bursk in Encino, California, and focuses his practice on personal injury. Mr. Savin represents clients in matters involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, wrongful death and other types of catastrophes throughout the greater Los Angeles area, including the areas of San Fernando and the Antelope Valley.

A native of the San Fernando Valley, Mr. Savin earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University Northridge and later graduated from Southwestern Law School. While attending law school, he gained valuable legal experience through an externship at the Los Angeles Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. He has been licensed to practice law in California since 2010.

Mr. Savin has accomplished a great deal throughout his legal career including litigating an extensive variety of personal injury cases, including Uninsured Employers Benefits Trust Fund cases. These workers’ compensation cases are handled by only a select few attorneys in the Los Angeles area who represent clients working for uninsured employers.

Mr. Savin’s efforts on behalf of his clients have been recognized in the legal realm and have led to membership in merit-based organizations. He belongs to both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, associations of members who have attained verdicts in excess of $1 million for their clients. Notably Mr. Savin obtained $7.2 Million dollars in trial for a slip and fall client in 2017 and $5 Million dollars during trial in 2018 for a premises liability case. In 2019 Mr. Savin recovered 7 figures for a client on the first day of trial on a case that was heavily disputed on all accounts.  Mr. Savin has many more examples of 7 figure results in 2020 and 2021 and he cannot wait for the courts to open back up for in person jury trials.

In addition, Mr. Savin is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, Consumer Attorneys of California, the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association and the American Association for Justice. He is also a founding member of Justice HQ.

Verdicts/Settlements:
  • $2,000,000.00  Premises Liability TBI (Freeman) - This mild traumatic brain injury case involved an elderly woman who was hit on the head by an unsecured canopy on a windy day at a special event.  She did not lose consciousness. MRIs and CT scans were normal. She did not have even a scratch on her head. To make matters worse, she stayed at the event until it was over and even took pictures smiling with friends (which the defense made a big deal of).  No other lawyer wanted to take her case because it wasn’t worth their time.  They did not think her injuries were a big deal – they were “mild”.  She was also too old at nearly 80 years of age.  Throughout the case, the defense argued that the impact to our client’s head was not sufficient enough of a blow to cause a brain injury.  They called it a “bonk”.  Six months after we filed the complaint - and after relentless blitzkrieg attacks – we proved otherwise.  After we were able to prove that our client’s injury was not “mild” and brought her brain injury to life, the defense offered $2 million to settle the case.  Mild traumatic brain injuries are invisible injuries that are difficult to prove.  These types of cases do not involve injuries that can be easily seen like a broken arm or leg.   , 2020
  • $1,000,000.00  Truck v. Bike (Valadez) - Our office was brought in as trial counsel after the best offer on the table of $250k was rejected by the client. Adam Savin and his team was actually the 3rd set of attorneys on the file. This was a case involving a box truck that passed too closely to a bicycle rider on the street and subsequently caused the rider to lose control and crash. Our client had lumbar surgery as a result of the collision. Defense argued that the bike rider came off the sidewalk and was at fault. An unidentified witness who only gave his first name and no other information told a different story according to a police report. Three years after the incident our firm was able to track down this witness who told us that he spoke with the insurance company previously and provided them his story (which they failed to disclose). Once the cat was out of the bag they immediately agreed to pay the insurance policy limits of one million dollars just days before commencing trial., 2020
  • $1,250,000 - Truck vs. Auto (Florian) - Unsafe lane change side swipe caused our client back complaints. 6 months later she had a minimally invasive back procedure. Settlement of $1.25 Million at Mediation. , 2017
  • $3,650,000.00 Assault & Battery (Gutierrez) After leaving work our client was followed by his disgruntled manager who had some unfinished business stemming from an on the job argument.  Our client was sucker punched in the face which caused him to fall backwards and strike the back of his head on a curb. The fall cracked our client’s skull and resulted in a moderate traumatic brain injury. Our client’s employer denied workers’ compensation since both employees were off the clock and off the premises. They simultaneously argued in the civil court case that the exclusive remedy was workers’ compensation leaving our client without options.  This case was dropped by prior attorneys who told our clients that the incident occurred in a grey zone of the law and there is nothing they can do. Adam Savin came up with a complicated winning strategy to pin the two insurance carriers against each other. Our team walked out of mediation and secured nearly double the highest offer just 10 days later., 2019
  • $2,335,793.00 - Settlement at eve of Trial (Padilla) - This was a scaffolding accident case which our client required cervical surgery. We recovered $1 Million from Scaffolding company, $1 Million from Home Owners insurance policy, and $335k through workers' compensation for our client. , 2016
  • $4,000,000.00 Settlement - Semi-truck accident resulting in the untimely death of our client. Insurance offered the grieving widow $1.5M for her silence. We demanded that every penny of insurance must be paid for starters as there is no amount to cover such a loss. We achieved a quick resolution for our clients., 2017
  • $1,000,000.00 Settlement on First day of Trial (Tehrani) - Dangerous Staircase premises liability where our client fell down 5 steps and injured his already delicate back, resulting in several surgeries. After 2 years of fighting the case the highest offer was $200,000 dollars. We demanded the insurance policy of $1 Million dollars which was finally accepted on the first day of Trial in Down Town Los Angeles. , 2019
  • $5,000,000 Trial Settlement (Hector Sosa) - Premises liability against our clients landlord for slum conditions including a dangerous stairway that broke as our client was decending. Clients injuries included back surgery and knee surgery. In addition, it was alleged that Defendant's started to discriminate against our client after filing of the lawsuit. Demand was initially made for $1 Million to which we received no response. Before trial I demanded $5 Million to which I received a very condiscending letter that offered plaintiff $75,000 dollars for his entire case. One week into trial defendants and their insurance adjuster saw the writing on the wall and paid my $5 Million dollar demand. , 2018
  • $7,200,000.00 Trial Victory (Kolstad v. Thoreau Janitorial Services) - Slip and fall in a consmetics store in Hollywood Ca when the Janitoral crew failed to place caution signs after mopping. The incidient resulted in lumbar surgery to our client and the placement of a spinal cord stimulator. Early demands of $1 million dollars to defendants were rejected. Case proceeded to trial in Van Nuys Ca and resulted in a $7.2 million dollar victory. , 2017
