Melinda A. Sammis

Attorney Melinda A. Sammis at Sammis Family Law helps people in San Francisco, California, and throughout the Bay Area with matters of family law, divorce, mediation, collaboration, child support, custody and visitation, and adoption. Ms. Sammis seeks to minimize the stress of divorce and reach resolutions for her clients through mediation and negotiation, but she is skilled and experienced at advocating successfully for her clients in court as well.

Ms. Sammis holds a number of professional memberships to organizations and associations, including the American Bar Association, the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.

As a member of The State Bar of California, Ms. Sammis also belongs to that association's Family Law Section and serves as an adviser to the executive committee on family law. In that capacity, she provides input and consultation when there is pending state legislation regarding family law.

At Smith College, Ms. Sammis studied English literature and Spanish, graduating with her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1999 and has been a guest lecturer at her alma mater since then. She has been licensed to practice law in California for more than two decades, and she is a California State Bar Legal Specialization-certified family law specialist.
