Rissa A. Stuart

She is admitted to practice in all California state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Central and Northern Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California – Los Angeles, in 1982, Ms. Stuart earned her J.D. with high honors from San Joaquin College of Law in 1993. During her tenure at law school, she served as the editor-in-chief of the Agricultural Law Review. She also completed an externship with the Honorable William Stone, Associate Justice of the 5th District Court of Appeal of the Judicial Council of California, between 1993 and 1994.

As an upstanding member of the legal community, Ms. Stuart is affiliated with several professional organizations, including The State Bar of California, the American Bar Association, the King County Bar Association and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers San Joaquin Valley Chapter. She notably served as the Chapter President for the latter in 2016 and 2017 and continues to serve as a Board Member.

Beyond her legal practice, Ms. Stuart is deeply involved in civic service. She actively participates in The Rotary Club of Hanford Sunset, a nonprofit that supports local education and youth initiatives. Her leadership as the nonprofit’s Club President from 2006 to 2007, and 2021 to 2022, were acknowledged when she was honored as the Outstanding President in the District, and under her guidance, the club was recognized as the Outstanding Club in the District. Her commitment to youth development extended to her advisory role in the local YMCA of the USA Youth and Government Education Program, benefiting high school students from 2000 to 2007.
