John McClintock

John McClintock, the visionary behind McClintock Law in Hermosa Beach, California, is a distinguished corporate attorney with a keen focus on startups, venture capital, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate affairs. Mr. McClintock is dedicated to guiding entrepreneurs, investors, funds, startups, emerging companies and private equity firms through every phase of their journey – from selecting the right business entity and structuring to formation, financing, growth and eventual exit strategies. His comprehensive services encompass private offerings, joint ventures, intellectual property development and licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and more.

In his role as outside general counsel, Mr. McClintock provides invaluable advice on board and shareholder matters, employment and consulting agreements, equity incentive plans, and commercial contracts. His illustrious career began at one of the top 10 law firms in the United States, where he played a pivotal role in several landmark mergers and acquisitions. He later honed his skills at a leading Los Angeles real estate and entertainment firm, advising developers and film producers on entity choice, capital structure and financing strategies.

Mr. McClintock's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in business administration, concentrating on finance and accounting, from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1997. He then pursued a Juris Doctor degree at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, graduating in 2000 with a concentration in business law. Since 2000, he has been a proud member of The State Bar of California and became a licensed California Bureau of Real Estate broker in 2006.

Beyond founding McClintock Law, Mr. McClintock co-founded and served as president and general counsel for Source Capital Advisors. This national real estate firm offers advisory services to some of the largest student housing owners, developers, operators and major universities across the nation, further showcasing his versatile experience and commitment to excellence in the legal and business realms.
