F. Edie Mermelstein

F. Edie Mermelstein is a civil litigator and appellate advocate with a special interest in prosecuting civil financial elder abuse cases, trust and estate litigation, intellectual property litigation, as well as women’s issues, advocating for survivors of sexual assaults. Ms. Mermelstein’s practice focuses on helping individuals navigate legal issues using compassion and common sense.

Born and raised in Long Beach, California, Ms. Mermelstein has significant ties to Southern California. After graduating from U.S.C.’s Marshall School of Business, Ms. Mermelstein had a successful career as a financial analyst and tax professional before pursuing a legal career. Broadening her education, Ms. Mermelstein obtained her Juris Doctorate and has been a member of the California State Bar since 2007. She dedicates a percentage of her practice to pro bono work to further her advocacy by reaching the underserved. Through adversity, Ms. Mermelstein found her calling, her passion, and is committed to the pursuit of justice.

In 2008, in order to give back to the community, Ms. Mermelstein started a pro bono legal program to serve women battling breast cancer. In 2014, Ms. Mermelstein was Consumer Attorney of California’s Street Fighter of the Year finalist. In October 2015, Ms. Mermelstein’s legal career reached stellar heights when she appeared before the United States Supreme Court on behalf of California Consumers. She has been recognized by Super Lawyers 2016 - 2024. In her spare time, Ms. Mermelstein contributes both financially and through volunteer efforts by providing legal services and serving on several Board of Directors, including the current co-president of the California Women’s Law Center, Breast Cancer Angels, and president of  the Auschwitz Study Foundation. She is also an active consultant for Southern California’s Council on Aging’s Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST).

Ms. Mermelstein is the owner and founding attorney of FEM Law Group, P.C. with offices in both Orange County and Los Angeles County. She is an advocate to women, children, artists and the elderly.
