Volunteer & Charitable Organizations
For Abbas and his family, giving back to the community through community volunteerism and charitable acts are core values. He also worked as a volunteer First Responder EMT for five years and had the honor to serve at Ground Zero in NYC after 9/11/2001.
Abbas currently serves as a member of the Board for Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center (CAPC), a charitable organization of over 120 staff members driven to end the cycle of child abuse in Orange County. He’s volunteered with CAPC for the last five years and in 2015, had the privilege of serving as the Board’s Chair. Additionally, every April, Abbas and his wife Alison join a team of runners who race nearly 200 miles between Huntington beach and San Diego to raise awareness and funds for the cause – and each Christmas, the Gokal family adopts families in need and delivers basic living necessities to them, a Gokal family tradition.

- $850,000.00 recovered on behalf of estate beneficiary at mediation against a substantially younger second wife who committed financial elder abuse, 2018
- The deceased husband's estranged half-siblings came out of the woodwork to lay claim to the husband's estate, alleging among other things the will did not contain the deceased's signature. Abbas hired a handwriting expert and convinced the court that it was the husband's intent to leave his estate to his wife and that the signature on the will was authentic. The widow was able to save her home, 2018

Representative Clients
- Husband's children from a prior marriage sought to claim an intestate interest in the trust despite the husband leaving a will demonstrating a testamentary intent to leave his entire estate to his wife of 20 years. The children argued the property at issue was the husband's separate property, which they were entitled to. Husband's children refused to settle at mediation. The matter proceeded to trial where the court determined the property was separate property. Gokal Law Group was able to protect the wife's rights to her husband's estate, 2019
- Protected a daughter against claims by her emotionally unstable mother for financial elder abuse. Mom claimed her daughter forced her to take certain actions despite the fact that mom had hired her own attorney to advise her of her rights. The family dispute was settled amicably at mediation without the need for trial, 2018
