Attorney Gregory Robinson is a founding partner with the Robinson & Robinson, LLP, law firm in Irvine, California. A 1980 graduate of Brigham Young University, Mr. Robinson attended the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he served as writer for the school's law review. He obtained his Juris Doctor with honors in 1983, and The State Bar of California admitted him to practice that same year. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

In addition, Mr. Robinson earned a diploma in Trial Advocacy Skills from the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and he is a licensed real estate broker in California. He has also served as chair of the Orange County Bar Association's Business and Corporate Section, and he is a former instructor and panelist for the California Continuing Education of the Bar.

  • Mr. Robinson represented a U.S. manufacturer who was threatened with a lawsuit by a bank equipment lessor, after the manufacturer had been defrauded by a purported equipment leasing vendor.  Mr. Robinson was able to assist his client by aggressively asserting the application of Uniform Commercial Code defenses, and by securing an early mediation with the bank.  This resulted in an a prompt settlement, avoiding lengthy and costly litigation.  , 2024
  • Mr. Robinson represented the U.S. subsidiary of a prominent Japanese manufacturer in order to protect against infringement of its intellectual property rights by a former distributor.  Mr. Robinson was able to assist in-house counsel in resolving the matter without litigation. , 2024
  • Mr. Robinson represented the largest owner of a high tech consulting business, who was ousted by a combination of other members who wielded a majority vote.  After buyout negotiations were unsuccessful, and after the majority faction unilaterally re-wrote the Operating Agreement buyout clause and claimed to have bought out the owner, Mr. Robinson led a litigation team and brought suit against the majority faction for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and other claims.  Following more than four years of litigation, Mr. Robinson was able to successfully secure a confidential settlement shortly before jury trial was scheduled to begin.   , 2023
  • Mr. Robinson represented the plaintiff real estate purchaser in a 5-day trial held in San Bernardino County Superior Court. The case involved allegations that the seller and listing agent intentionally failed to disclose material defects in property.  Mr. Robinson secured a judgment against the owner, including an award of punitive damages in the amount of $200,467.50.  Mr. Robinson undertook post-judgment enforcement, including a levy on real property. Mr. Robinson secured payment from the judgment debtor and filed a Full Satisfaction of Judgment on behalf of his client., 2021
  • Gregory Robinson represented the owner of a multimillion dollar hotel located near a major Southern California tourist destination.  The owner was in escrow to sell the hotel upon completion of a major renovation.  Mr. Robinson advised the owner in connection with various disputes that arose during the sale escrow, including disputes relating to the buyer's conduct, closing conditions, and contractor performance. Mr. Robinson assisted in negotiations and drafted and reviewed various documents prepared to resolve the disputes.  The escrow closed successfully., 2020
  • Gregory Robinson represented a restaurant franchisee in an arbitration claim against the franchisor, relating to the franchisor's failure to timely oversee the construction of the franchised restaurant within the agreed budget and construction cap. The case involved a non-uniform modification of the standard franchise agreement, under which the franchisor undertook certain oblgations to develop, construct and open the restaurant.  Mr. Robinson was brought into the case mid-stream. He represented the franchisee in a 5 day arbitration hearing under the auspicies of the American Aribitration Association.  The hearing involved defenses relating to interpretation of the contract obligations and alleged delays caused by the franchisee.  Mr. Robinson secured an arbitration award in favor of the franchisee, defeating the contract interpretation defenses. The award included the total amount of the principal cost overruns and was subsequently paid in full., 2019
  • Gregory Robinson represented the owner of a San Clemente townhouse in a lawsuit against the homeowners association, management company and water district for major subsidence damage due to water intrustion from common area property onto the townhouse lot.  Mr. Robinson worked with geotechnical engineer experts, and developed a solid evidentiary basis for the legal claims.  Mr. Robinson secured a settlement shortly before the scheduled jury trial, with confidentiality required by the settlement agreement. , 2019
  • La Amapola v. Honeyville, Inc., U.S. District Court, Central Dist. of Calif., Case No. 2:17-cv-01946. Represented Food Distributor in multi-million dollar federal district court lawsuit, involving 23 rail cars of white corn purchased for resale to Hispanic stores to make tamales. A major Hispanic store group experienced catastrophic customer tamale returns on the eve of Christmas, which brought significant negative TV publicity. We defended the Food Distributor and brought a third-party complaint against the Nebraska Grain Elevator, one of the largest grain distributors in North America.  We investigated causation and developed significant proof that the cause of the tamale failure was the Grain Elevator's sale of white corn that had been contaminated with a new-type of GMO corn created for the ethanol industry, not food use.  After defeating a motion for summary judgment, the case was when jury trial preparation was substantially complete.   • Gregory Robinson represented a medical device company in connection with a dispute between multiple ownership factions regarding a business reorganization involving multiple limited liability companies, overlapping co-ownership, and claims of breaches of fiduciary duty by managing officers and directors.
