The founder of the Philo Law Firm, P.C., Michelle A. Philo has a practice that encompasses estate planning, trust and probate administration and litigation, and business counseling and transactions.  With offices in Irvine and San Diego, she represents individuals and companies throughout the southern part of California.  Admitted to practice in California since 2012, Michelle is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Central and Northern Districts of California, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Michelle regularly prepares and reviews wills, all types of revocable trusts, financial and health care powers of attorney, and advance medical directives for her clients who need her estate planning services.  She has also represented executors and trustees during the estate administration stage, and she guides heirs and beneficiaries through what can often be a complicated and lengthy probate process.

Michelle provides outside general counsel services to small business that are not yet at the state of hiring someone in house.  She also has represented many entrepreneurs who are contemplating launching a new venture.  She helps them with the formation of the business, guiding them in the choice of legal entity that the company should operate under, stock purchase and sale agreements, asset purchase agreements, and the preparation of a variety of contracts related to the operations of the business.  Michelle also provides advice and counsel on trademark filings, terms of use, and software as a service agreements.  

Held in high regard by her fellow members of the bar, Ms. Philo has received a 10.0 “Superb” peer review rating through Avvo along with other notable honors. She is a 2012 graduate of Whittier Law School and the immediate past president of the Orange County Women Lawyers Association.  She has also served as President of her alumni associations, Chapman University and Whittier Law School Alumni Association.
