Jonathan M. Jenkins

Serving businesses across fields, including AI infrastructure and data centers, mortgage banking and financial institutions, and regional healthcare providers, Jonathan M. Jenkins has nearly three decades of experience in business litigation. As a partner at Jenkins Kayayan LLP in La Cañada Flintridge, California, he represents clients nationwide, resolving commercial disputes through court trials, arbitration or mediation.

Having counseled Fortune 500 corporations, mid-size companies, partnerships and financial institutions, Mr. Jenkins holds extensive experience in complex and class action litigation in state and federal courts. He pioneers mortgage repurchase and UCL actions while handling high-profile IP and art litigation. Additionally, he handles matters of breach of contract, partnership conflicts, intellectual property disputes and breach of fiduciary duty. His high-stakes cases frequently earn coverage in major national media outlets like The New York Times.

Among his many cases, Mr. Jenkins notably secured a reversal of a multimillion-dollar judgment in Debreu v. TCW Group. The court ruled the shareholder’s lawsuit was a barred derivative claim, not a direct tort. In another case, he secured a landmark judgment for a subsea provider against a landing station operator. He leveraged technical expertise to prove breach of contract, forcing the station to grant critical access and upgrades previously blocked by delay tactics.

Graduating from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Mr. Jenkins pursued his law degree at Harvard Law School. Upon gaining his Juris Doctor in 1997, he was admitted to The State Bar of California in the same year. He is further admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th, 9th and 11th Circuits, the U.S. District Court for the District of California, the U.S. District Court for the District of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
