Jonathan M. Genish is the founder of Blackstone Law, APC, a plaintiff-side employment and class action law firm in Beverly Hills, California. He has practiced law in California since 2008, representing employees in Los Angeles and across the state who have been wrongfully terminated, retaliated against, discriminated against, or sexually harassed at work, as well as workers who were not paid the wages they earned.
Early in his career, Mr. Genish honed his craft at boutique litigation firms in Los Angeles, where he saw how often clients were treated as case numbers rather than as people going through some of the hardest moments of their lives. Out of this frustration, he founded Blackstone Law on the belief that clients deserve more than transactional representation. They deserve lawyers who listen closely, care about the outcome, and fight hard for it.
Today, his practice includes individual employment cases as well as wage-and-hour class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) actions brought on behalf of groups of workers. He has litigated in California state and federal courts and in the California Court of Appeal. His results include an $11.85 million class action and PAGA settlement against Hyatt Corporation and a $5.9 million wage-and-hour class action and PAGA settlement against Santa Cruz Seaside Company. Under his leadership, Blackstone Law has recovered more than $400 million for clients.
Mr. Genish has been selected to Super Lawyers in Southern California from 2025 through 2027, after being named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2012 and from 2017 through 2022. The Daily Journal named him one of its Top Labor & Employment Lawyers for 2026.
Mr. Genish earned his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City and graduated with honors from California State University, Northridge, with a Bachelor of Science in real estate and finance. He is licensed by the State Bar of California (Bar No. 259031).
Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Genish is a devoted family man and father of three, whose personal sense of empathy shapes the way Blackstone Law approaches every client relationship.
Blackstone Law offers free consultations and works with clients in English, Spanish, and Hebrew. The firm works on a contingency basis, meaning clients don’t pay unless there is a recovery. If there is no recovery, clients owe nothing in attorney’s fees or costs.
Every case is different, and results depend on the facts and law of each matter. Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
