Katharine F. Hooker

Founder and CEO of Family Law Group, Inc., attorney Katharine F. Hooker focuses her practice exclusively on that area of the law. Located in the firm's office in Livermore, California, she provides representation to clients throughout the greater Oakland metropolitan region and other parts of the East San Francisco Bay Area. Admitted to practice before all California state courts since 2006, Ms. Hooker is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

The primary portion of Ms. Hooker's family law practice involves her assisting people whose marriages are coming to an end and who are thus grappling with divorce-related issues such as the division of complex assets and debts, child custody and visitation, and spousal and child support. She has placed a particular emphasis on high-asset divorces, and she has represented both high net worth clients as well as their estranged spouses in ensuing litigation. These types of cases frequently involve the need to place a value on business interests, stock options and investment accounts so that they can be properly divided, and in some instances, they include assets that one spouse has hidden from another. In this regard, Ms. Hooker frequently works with forensic accountants and other financial professionals.

In addition to her matrimonial practice, Ms. Hooker also helps clients whose marriages have already been dissolved and who are now seeking modifications to or the enforcement of existing support and parenting orders, and she regularly prepares and reviews prenuptial and post-marital agreements. A recipient of a bachelor's degree cum laude from Azusa Pacific University, she obtained her legal education at Regent University School of Law.
